Review and Information for Stanley Seagull
by Kim Smith

Recently, my good friend, Nicole at Tribute Books asked me to do a review of a children's book entitled Stanley Seagull, by Cathy Mazur. I have read many books for children and YA over the years, and always marvel at the writing and artwork within the pages. Stanley's story didn't disappoint.

This is a great book for reading aloud to children of all ages, and adults will like it too, as it has several key themes in it that appeal to us all. Stanley is a very likable character and one that suffers from the common ill of wanting more out of life than what is beneficial. When he takes off from the comfort of his home and life to follow his friend and fellow seagull, Seymour, he is intent on a "get full fast" idea. He is not aware that there is a terrible catch to this plot for more more more, however, and soon finds himself in a place of despair and regret.

I recommend this book to anyone looking to teach young readers to read, and for those who like to share books with a purpose for young people of today.
